Above is one of three new originals that will be exhibited in "Wider Than a Postcard" at the Breeze Block Gallery in Portland, USA opening tomorrow — May 2nd 2013.
Other exhibitors include David Bray, D*Face, Candice Tripp,Gary Taxali, Mario Wagner, Josh Keys, Marissa Textor, Pete Fowler and Sylvia Ji among others.
When invited to be part of the show I took it as an opportunity to officially kick start the new series "Gestures" that I have been experimenting with recently. All pieces in the show measure 6" x 4" and so afford a great opportunity to pick up very affordable work from some great artists.

A — B is a brand new site born of a passion for cycling and a need for hard to find local knowledge. Built for ease of use on your mobile whilst out and about, A — B offers a host of "cycle routes curated by a mix of influencers, tastemakers, independent cycling brands, cycling journalists/bloggers and general enthusiasts."
I was kindly asked to submit a route — choosing a comparatively leisurely journey taking in some of my favourite galleries and spots to eat/drink around East London. With more routes from the US and Europe in the pipeline, not to mention the UK, this is surely set to become a go to site for cyclists in the very near future.

Wallpaper Magazine's editor at large Henrietta Thompson recently interviewed me in her role as curator of the Brilliant Britain project from Mulberry. To read the full interview please click the link below.
Over the next month or so I'll be collaborating again with the very talented film maker Andrew Telling on a new project as a development of the ongoing Semblance series. The initial stage will involve a shoot with a small number of models, the results of which will be used both as reference material for new work and as part of a film. Both of which will be exhibited later down the line. A handful of models I've worked with before will be used for the shoot but I also wanted to open a submission to anyone who may be interested in posing to see if it uncovered any hidden gems.
The project is in the early stages but currently the specifications are:
— model must be female between 20 and 35 years old
— previous modelling experience not essential but being comfortable in front of camera is
— model must be available for shoot in London
If you are interested please email a photo reference — Submit
Woke up to the frankly fucking brilliant news on his 66th birthday Bowie is back with a new single and album due in March! I can now tentatively raise my life long hope of seeing him live again. Not too high though. You can watch the new video for "Where Are We Now?" by clicking the link below — personally I'm pretending the typography isn't there.

I can't remember how I found Studio Family's online shop but I'm glad I did — nothing much to say other than I love the three screen prints they've produced in the Fauna series to date. Not only do they look great but they're priced at a very reasonable £30 for a beautiful A1 screen print. We had originally thought of one for our new niece but we're not sure if we can part with it.
Not content with releasing Old Norse last week (receiving Staff Pick on Vimeo and a non too shabby 42K hits and counting so far) Mr Telling has dropped another beauty — this time with talented sidekick Owen Richards for the kings of cycling Rapha. In short it's a mini doc showing you how unbelievably tough and mind-bendingly beautiful Rapha's new cycling course is in Andrew's typical effortless way. Sit back, hit full screen and enjoy.

I stumbled across The Galvin Brothers site the other day and immediately felt my wallet searching for a new hiding place containing as it does a small but very beautiful collection of furniture hand made in the UK. Somewhat Utilitarian but with a softer, human touch — I'm looking forward to what else these talented brothers produce in the future.

The Walkmen - Stranded - Live at Governor's Island from Big Ass Lens on Vimeo.
I recently managed to catch The Walkmen play live — something I've been wanting to do for a few years now but always somehow missed them whenever they were in town. The wait paid off as they did that thing bands you love tend to never do — totally exceeded expectations as a live act. If they play in your area I highly recommend checking them out. Oh how I wish I could sing like that.
Expanding her range of understated, modernist London inspired treasures she has up for sale on her aptly name shop "Things You Can Buy"— designer Stefi Orazi has just released this latest pack of greetings cards. When you purchase not only do you stand the chance to win one of her limited edition screen prints Willy Wonka style but £1 from each pack goes to the charity Shelter. What are you waiting for?

Opening tomorrow evening at StolenSpace is Arth Daniels' latest solo show — an exhibition that is sure to prove really interesting including as it does "a series of brand new paintings and the release of 10 limited edition, engraved Sculptures which invite you to ‘Pick Your Nose’ and create your very own ‘Mugshot’ from a large variety of hand crafted, colourful collectable Facial Features."
Arth Daniels has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the prestigious BP Portrait Award and the yet what is on show tomorrow contradicts all expectations you may have from reading that. It's portraiture as I've never quite seen before and I can't wait to clap eyes on it in the flesh.

Not much else to say other than Andrew Telling's new film about Conor Harrington in Norway is just beautiful — with a new understated detail revealing itself with each viewing. Watch full screen with the headphones on — the stunning visuals are matched by the soundtrack composed by Luincda Chua and Mr Telling. No doubt this will be doing the rounds and then some but it thoroughly deserves it.
INTERVIEW WITH ANDREW ABOUT THE FILM
After some consideration I feel it's now high time to bid a fond farewell to a number of prints from the portrait section as, with some pieces dating back as 2006, they neither reflect my current practise nor where I want to take ShopVon.
So, to cut a long story short, if you would like to purchase prints of Dylan, Elvis, etc you have until Monday 22nd October whereafter they will be removed from the site. I have created a page of the prints that will be removed which you can access by clicking the link below.
Work has begun on a collection of new pieces. I'm really enjoying revisiting the Animal Series. Some of the new work will be released towards the end of the year. If you would like know about the releases a minimum of 24 hours before the public join our mailing list by clicking the link below.

CURRENT PRINTS FROM ANIMAL SERIES
Today is the last day for you to catch the exhibition put together by Uniform Wares to celebrate the launch of their latest collection as part of London Design Festival 2012. Whilst the show officially opened last weekend it was Wednesday evening that saw the launch party and what a great night it was!
Above is my piece for the show. The basic premise of the show is that each artist picked a specific time for whatever reason as inspiration for their artwork and asked to submit a short blurb about why. Mine being as follows:
"As much as I don't like to admit it, deep down I am a man of routines. Location permitting, every Sunday morning I listen to some of my favourite records whilst we're wondering how to spend the day or tidying the flat. More often than not this will include Dylan's "Times They are A-Changin' " — containing as it does one of my all time favourite songs, "Boots of Spanish Leather." A perfect accompaniment to those few hours of a Sunday I really cherish before the plans for"
Other artists involved include Anthony Burril, James Joyce, Craig & Karl and more — all of whose work is for sale. Head down to 81 Leonard St in Shoreditch to day to catch the work and watches on show. Alternatively you can see some photos of the opening on the UW blog by following the link below.
Another show opening this month that I'm looking forward to seeing in the flesh is from fellow graphite enthusiast Greg Eason. Greg will be taking over Protein's gallery space in Shoreditch for three days towards the end of the month with a new body of work showcasing more of his beautifully balanced, minimal compositions.
Very excited to check out “Around Us & Between Us” — the latest show by Geoff McFetridge — this coming Friday. If you're around Soho over the next few weeks I'd hedge my bets on this being a show well worth spending some time with at Ivory & Black on Berwick St.

With every new collection they release Uniform Wares become more synonymous with simplicity and beauty. To help celebrate their latest they have gathered a diverse handful of creatives for an exhibition they are hosting throughout London Design Week and London Fashion Week. As you may have guessed - the exhibition is time themed, each artist having picked a favourite time of day, week or point in their life as inspiration for the work on show.
It's been an extremely busy past year or so and I'm pleased to say the HelloVon website has now undergone a major update to all three folios. Dotted throughout you can now find new projects from the last 18 months including:
— D&AD nominated 2012 Paralympic Games Campaign
— Tom Daley as part of the Olympics 2012 campaign by Adidas
— A custom cover for Wallpaper* Magazine
— Two series of portraits in collaboration with Rankin
— Work for the Nike, The New Yorker, Wired, Penguin, Time Magazine and more
You can also see my work during the months of August and September exhibited here:
— T.E.A.M exhibition in collaboration with Melvin Galapon, Kemistry Gallery, 16.8.12 - 1.9.12.
— 12:24 exhibition curated by Uniform Ware, 81 Leonard St Gallery, 14.9.12 - 24.9.12.
Big thanks to everyone that made it down to the TEAM exhibition last week at Kemistry Gallery — it was a great night. Above are some shots of the work I did in collaboration with Melvin Galapon for the show — including one large original piece, an A1 screen print in edition of 25 and an A3 Riso Print. All work is now available to purchase directly from Kemistry Gallery. (Photos courtesy of Owen Richards)
